After rumors spread that he had fallen into a coma, Kim Jong Un reappears in public together with his daughter Kim Ju Ae
October 20
After rumors emerged claiming North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had suffered a brain hemorrhage, fallen into a coma and lost consciousness, Kim Jong Un has appeared in person together with his daughter at a textile and footwear product exhibition inside North Korea.
In reports by some Western newspapers, including the UK-based The Sun, it was written as rumor that Kim Jong Un had suffered a ruptured cerebral blood vessel and lost consciousness, and had been rushed to Beijing, China, for emergency medical treatment.
However, on the morning of October 20 today, North Korea's state-run news agency KCNA released news and photos of Kim Jong Un.
The report stated that on October 19, Kim Jong Un visited the "National Textile and Footwear Product Exhibition" held in North Korea together with his daughter Kim Ju Ae.
According to KCNA's photo records, Kim Jong Un showed no signs at all of being in a coma, walking normally and examining clothes inside the exhibition hall with his hands. In addition, he was seen talking with his daughter and officials surrounding him nearby.
Because the health of North Korean leaders is a state secret, it is usually difficult to independently verify from outside, and rumors such as this that he is near death have frequently emerged before as well.
