Thai news agencies reported that at least 12 locations were simultaneously attacked in three districts in southern Thailand — Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala — starting around 8 PM last night, with explosions also occurring.
During these attacks, perpetrators carried out bombings, set fire to communication towers and convenience stores, opened fire with guns, and burned vehicles. They also burned car tires and scattered nails on main roads, according to reports.
In Pattani, a 7-Eleven store was destroyed by fire following an explosion, and a fire truck and a garbage collection vehicle were also set ablaze, according to reports.
After these incidents occurred in succession, Thai security forces and relevant authorities had to immediately launch emergency responses to bring the damage under control, according to reports.
In particular, in some of the worst-hit areas of Narathiwat, authorities imposed a curfew, tightened security measures, and accelerated clearance operations, it was reported.
According to statements from police and security officials, the total number of bombing, arson, and destruction incidents that occurred overnight last night exceeded 30, according to reports.
Currently, local authorities and military officials are making every effort to fully guarantee the rule of law and the safety of people's lives and property, and close monitoring continues to be carried out, according to reports.
