Two bridges on the Myitkyina-Bhamo road in Kachin State were bombed and destroyed from the air by the military junta, according to local news sources.

Around 10 a.m. today, October 23, the Myo Thit bridge near Moe Mauk township on the Myitkyina-Bhamo road was bombed and destroyed by a fighter jet launched from Tada U airbase, it is learned.

The bridge is one used by the public, and due to the bombing attack the old bridge was completely destroyed, while the new bridge was damaged such that cars cannot travel on it, with only motorcycles able to pass slowly, it is learned.

In August 2024, the KIA and allied forces fully captured the entire Moe Mauk township, and at present the military junta is launching an offensive along the Bhamo-Mansi route in Kachin State, with fighting occurring and airstrikes also being carried out, resulting in civilian casualties, it is learned.
