One Woman Killed After Passenger Vehicle Rolls Backward on Mountain Road in Namhsan

A vehicle overturned in Namhsan Township, northern Shan State, killing one woman and injuring three others, it is learned.

Around 12:00 noon on October 2, a passenger vehicle traveling from Mandalay toward Namhsan rolled backward and overturned on the uphill road at Pan Sa Meint in Namhsan town, it is learned.

"It happened near the uphill section by the dried tea leaf factory. Since the Kyaukme road was closed, they came this way. It rolled backward on the uphill climb," said a member of a social welfare organization.

The overturned passenger vehicle was carrying six passengers, and one man and three women were injured, with one of the women dying at the hospital, it is learned.

"One person died at the hospital. The others also have serious injuries. They were all people from Namhsan," said a local resident.

The woman who died was around 50 years old and from Namhsan Township, it is learned, and the injured are currently receiving medical treatment at Namhsan People's Hospital, it is learned.
