Junta troops burn down village in Magway Region, destroying more than 15 homes in Taung Boet Gyi village

It is reported that the junta troops, who launched a military column and stationed themselves in Taung Boet Gyi village, Saw Township, Magway Region, burned down homes in the village.

Starting from September 20, the junta troops advanced with a column of about 80 troops and, after stationing at the monastery in Taung Boet Gyi village, began burning homes on the northern side of the village monastery at around 12:00 noon on September 29, it is reported.

"This is the first time we've been burned. They burned the houses whose owners fled out of fear when the military column entered. From there, the fire spread from one house to another. They are stationed at the monastery and are gathering information about the village," a local resident said.

Due to the burning by the junta military column, no fewer than 15 civilian homes were destroyed by fire, and as of today, September 30, troops remain stationed in the monastery, so detailed ground information is not yet known, it is said.

"The people remaining in the village did not dare to put out the fires. They set the fires and fired guns. The fire only went out after all the houses were gone; more than 15 were lost," a local resident from a nearby village said.

It is also reported that on September 26, junta troops burned down civilian homes in Thee Kone village, Saw Township, destroying no fewer than 3 homes.
