Singer Kaing Zar Dies While Undergoing Treatment for Lung Infection

Singer Kaiza, who rose to fame with his own original songs, passed away at around 7:00 PM yesterday, August 22, according to reports.

Singer Kaiza (also known as U Nyi Nyi Win) died while receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of Victoria Hospital due to a lung infection, it has been reported.

"Our prayers were not answered. Our dear friend Ko Nyi has passed away at Victoria Hospital at 7:00 PM tonight (22.8.2026). We will announce the funeral date later," a friend of singer Kaiza announced on social media.

Singer Kaiza entered the music scene in 1977 with the biographical music series 'The Loneliness of the Ugly One' and became widely known for songs such as "A Nhan Pan," "Be Kind to the Song's Owner," "Two Nephews, One Country," "Rain Falling Over Inle," and "My Rain."

Songwriter, singer, and vocalist Kaiza was 66 years old at the time of his death, according to reports.
