NUG Government Releases Roadmap for Democratic Transition

The National Unity Government (NUG) today released a three-stage roadmap—short-term, medium-term, and long-term—for building a Democratic Federal Union. This roadmap clearly outlines Myanmar's democratic transition journey and includes programs in which all citizens can participate.

The Prime Minister stated that the first stage involves successfully waging revolutionary battles and processes to dismantle the military dictatorship system. The second stage involves carrying out transitional period reforms, and the third stage involves fully building the Democratic Federal Union.

There are plans to coordinate and collaborate with Ethnic Armed Organizations and PDFs, and the right to self-determination of ethnic groups is recognized. The EU and the United States have also welcomed it as a positive step.
