UN convenes special meeting on Myanmar issue.

In Myanmar, over 18 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance, according to a statement released by a UN Special Envoy. It is believed this meeting will help draw greater international attention to the Myanmar issue.

The draft resolution calls on the military council to cease airstrikes and to open humanitarian corridors.
