Thailand-Myanmar border trade declines by 40%.

Trade volume has declined from $3.2 billion to $1.9 billion due to the closure of border gates. At the Myawaddy-Mae Sot gate, only 30% of cargo trucks are passing through.

The Mae Sot Merchants Association also stated that on the Thai side, unemployment among cross-border trade workers is increasing.
