Over 200 garment factories shut down, affecting hundreds of thousands of workers.

Prior to the military coup, over 700 factories were operating, but now one-third have closed down. This is due to the suspension of EU orders, electricity outages, and deteriorating security conditions.

The majority of the unemployed are women, with only some Chinese and Japanese buyers continuing their operations.
