Revolutionary forces attacked a military junta naval convoy heading to reinforce Shwegu-Bhamo between Kyaukmaung and Thabeikkyin, according to local sources.

On August 23, when the junta naval convoy was passing between Kyaukmaung and Thabeikkyin towns, revolutionary forces attacked it with drones including FPV drones, it was learned.

"There were clashes at three locations yesterday. The military side suffered heavy losses. Reports say casualties included senior officers. It cannot be confirmed yet, but it is highly likely," said a revolutionary comrade.

The junta naval convoy departed from Mandalay using the Irrawaddy River route and has reportedly reached Tagaung town today.

The junta is using airstrikes to prevent KIA and allied PDF forces from taking control of Shwegu and Bhamo towns, where fighting is intense.

On August 22, two People's Defense Force comrades were killed when the junta carried out bombing attacks with jet fighters.
